Instant Pot Apple Butter, No Sugar Added

I did a lot of traveling over the weekend and was given a bunch of fresh apples to use. I have never made apple butter before but thought that now was the perfect time to try. So I quickly got on Pinterest and found a few Instant Pot recipes to try. As usual, I pulled some from this one, some from that one, then added my own twist to it. It turned out amazing! I made oven puff pancakes for supper just so we would have an excuse to eat the apple butter.

Prepping the Apples

Now for the recipe. I used my apple corer, slicer, peeler, which made the job a lot easier and faster! Once sliced I cut down the center to make litle rings and tossed the apples into the pot until it was full. I actually didn’t count the number of apples used but I’m guessing it was between 12-15. After all of the apples were in the pot I added the remaining ingredients and sealed the pot.

Instant Pot Magic

Once the pot was sealed I set it on Manual for 20 min and waited as the aroma filled the air. We couldn’t wait for it to be done. It smelled amazing!

Next I used the Saute button to boil out some of the extra liquid. I did this for about 15-20 min until I got the desired thickness. Use caution while doing this because it will splash and it does burn! Yes, I found that out the hard way. I found that if I kept it on low and continued to stir it then it didn’t splash as much.

Time to Enjoy!

The finished product was so good! I have a few apples left over so I plan to make more and use a water bath to can them so that we can enjoy it a bit longer.
